This is from a couple months ago, but it melted me this morning as I was looking through pictures. Can't describe the love I have for these two...it's crazy. God is so kind.

We had an amazing four day weekend together. It was much needed rest and togetherness time for the three of us. Friday was rainy and we just stayed inside being cozy all day except when we ventured out to get Mexican for lunch. the above picture captures the essence of that wonderfully lazy day :)

Friday night and Saturday were spent at our friend's, the Brinkmans, house on the Sound in NC. It was great talking and eating with them Friday night, and Saturday we went out on the boat and got to do a little tubing. The weather was perfect and their house is beautiful - great overnight getaway! 

Sunday night = family night :) always a fun time with my parents, Rebekah, Brian and their kiddos and Rachie! We hung out on the deck, the guys played cornhole and my dad made some awesome pancakes.  

my dad built the deck this summer and it's been enjoyed on lots of occasions already.

On Monday, Labor Day, we spent the morning being lazy at home, then did a little shopping/errand running, got lunch, spent the afternoon at home, then brought a pizza to the beach and hung out there for the evening listening to a band play at 31st street. it was a spectacular evening...the kind you wish would never end. Kaden did so great and we ended up staying til close to 9 drinking a macchiato and enjoying the sea salty breeze.

and as of today.....he can stand up in his crib!! oh my, I don't think I'm ready for this! 

this kid gets cuter every day. I think I love him more every day too...if that's possible!

I'm thankful for...

a mom and sisters who are my best girl friends! This past week we had some fun days hanging out together. Monday we went to the zoo and Tuesday was Duncan't birthday, so since it was rainy we hung out in the Barnes and Noble kids section playing with the train table and looking at books. Then my dad came and met us for lunch at Moe's! I'm so glad we all live close enough to meet up during the week to hang out...and so glad Kaden will grow up playing with his cousins and knowing his aunties and uncles and Marmee and Papa.

 old reclaimed wood and antique hooks. ILOVEIT! Just decided on a place to hang it today :)
